Things to Think About Series
Tips for Planning a Successful Candlelight Memorial

In the coming weeks and months, the Global Health Council will be providing you, the coordinators of the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, tips on specific topics for creating a successful candlelight memorial. The Things to Think About Series will address topics to help you plan, market, produce, and evaluate your memorials as well as strengthen your community mobilization skills. They will be posted here as well as on the Candlelight Memorial e-mail listserve.

Each topic will offer advice and examples, and we ask you, the coordinators, to share your own ideas about each topic on the listserve at candlelightmemorial@listserve.com. Many of you are already experienced community organizers, but it cannot hurt to have a few helpful reminders. The Global Health Council believes the Candlelight can be much more than just a memorial, but an occasion to share information about HIV/AIDS, to influence policy-makers, and to take action. We hope you can take something away from the series.
