2006 Candlelight Memorial Spokesperson Each year, the reigning Miss Universe travels around the world and encourages communities to mobilize their efforts around the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial. Since the beginning of her work with the Global Health Council, Miss Universe has visited Candlelight communities in Panama, Kenya, China, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and the United States, and has filmed four Public Service Announcements. The reigning Miss Universe launches the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial on World AIDS Day and promotes the importance of involvement with the local community in response to HIV/AIDS. The reigning 2005 Miss Universe and official spokesperson of the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial is Natalie Glebova.
