The Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+) advocates to improve the quality of life of people living with HIV
Candlelight Mission Statement
Our Mission
The mission of the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial program is to honor and support those who have been affected in some way by the global HIV epidemic by mobilizing communities for a world where people do not die of AIDS and people living with HIV can live healthy lives and be respected.

Our Leadership
Coordinated by the Global Network of People living with HIV, the Candlelight Memorial is led by grass roots civil society, including networks and organisations of people living with HIV, affected families and communities, and other groups and individuals committed to stop HIV.

Our Goals
  • To commemorate and celebrate the lives of those lost to and affected by AIDS.
  • To promote respect and inclusiveness, and give voice to those infected and affected by HIV, particularly women and children.
  • To demonstrate the leadership of civil society and its critical partnership with government in the fight against HIV.
  • To serve as an occasion for community dialogue, services and education, sharing of best practices, commitment, and creative expression.
  • To advance public policy addressing HIV, and related health and social conditions, at all levels of government.
Our Values
The Candlelight Memorial program is guided by the core values of dignity, diversity, transparency, global solidarity, and professional and personal integrity.
